From 17 to 19 March 2016, Mr. Mouavixay Palee, Deputy Director of Trade and Investment Division (TID) of ACC attended the China Edible Fungi Industry Conference & the 2016 Spring Exposition, which were held in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province. The Conference was co-hosted by China Edible Fungi Association and Lianyungang Municipal Government. H.E. Mme. Gu Xiulian, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 10th NPC, H.E. Mr. Gu Guoxin, member of the National Committee of CPPCC and President of China Edible Fungi Association, Mr. Li Yu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Mr. Zhang Yan, Former Director of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu People’s Congress, and leaders of Lianyungang Municipal Government attended the Conference along with more than 1000 other representatives, including representatives of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Ambassadors of Ecuador and Lithuania, Cambodian Minister Counsellor, Iranian Commercial Counsellor to China, experts, entrepreneurs and representatives from edible fungi industry across China.
In addition to the Conference, ACC delegation also attended the Edible Fungi Round Table Meeting on areas of “One Belt and One Road”, “Internet +” and “Biological Pharmacy Symposium”, which was hosted by the China Edible Fungi Association. In this Meeting, ACC representatives addressed the topic on “China-ASEAN Cooperation”. During the visit, Deputy Mayor Wu Haiyun, Deputy Secretary-General Zhang Xiaohong of the Municipal Government of Lianyungang had friendly exchanges with ACC representatives on how to further promote Lianyungang and ASEAN countries in trade and investment cooperation.
Currently, China has become the first leading country in edible fungi industry in the world with more than 30 million tons of production and 200 billion RMB of value in 2014.
