ACC Secretary-General Attended BFA 15th Anniversary Celebration

On 23 March 2016, the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) 15th Anniversary Celebration was held in Boao International Conference Centre. H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the celebration upon invitation. 

H.E. Mr. Zeng Peiyan, BFA Vice Chairman and China’s former Premier, H.E. Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, Director-General of the BFA, H.E. Mr. Algirdas Butkevicius, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, H.E. Mr. Mao Chaofeng, Vice Governor of Hainan Province, China attended the celebration and delivered speeches. 

Mr. Zeng Peiyan remarked that, with Asia’s fast development, BFA’s role had become more and more important. As a high-level forum with Asian feature, which had attracted the world’s attention, BFA made remarkable achievements in promoting the communication and cooperation in various fields among Asian countries. With the strong support of all parties, the BFA would further stimulate the vitality for Asia’s development and transformation. Mr. Yasuo Fukuda said that, 15 years ago, the painful experience of Asian financial crisis brought us together to create the forum. During the 15 years, using this platform, we exchanged views on various issues, searching for the best solution for the common problems that we are facing, and had achieved satisfied results. We hoped the parties could continue to support BFA, and make a joint effort to realize the sustainable peace and stability of Asia. Mr. Algirdas Butkevicius congratulated BFA for its 15th anniversary. He appreciated the sparks of wisdom happened in BFA and would like to become an important partner of BFA. Mr. Mao Chaofeng, as the host of BFA, thanked the parties for their continuous support for BFA. He said with the development of Hainan Province, Hainan would provide better facilitation for BFA, show Hainan’s achievements in various fields to the world, and therefore lay a solid foundation for Hainan’s opening up to the world. 

The 17 Council Members wrote a banner “Promoting Asia Economic Integration and Common Development of the World”, expecting BFA to have more magnificent achievements in the future.
