He said this year marked the 15th anniversary of BFA. 15 years ago BFA started from a small fishing village in the southern part of China. Now, it had become a high-level forum which attracted the world’s attention. Today, Asia had become the main engine of world’s economy. The total GDP of ASEAN, China, Japan and ROK had surpassed the economic circles of North America and European Union. Asia could not go further without cooperation. Asian countries should deepen their understanding, strengthen their cooperation, and strive for a better future together.

H.E. Mr. Li Keqiang, the Premier of China’s State Council delivered a keynote speech. He pointed out that Asia was an important force for world peace and development, an important engine of world economic growth and an important facilitator of world civilization progress. With unwavering faith, Asian countries would create a bright future together. Li Keqiang put forward five-point views on coping with challenges with the joint efforts of all Asian countries: Firstly, to jointly safeguard peace and stability. We should stick to good-neighbourly friendship, equal treatment as well as peaceful coexistence, and make efforts to seek common ground while shelving differences, gather similarities while eliminating differences and consolidate the foundation of regional peace and stability. Secondly, to jointly promote economic growth. China proposed to establish an Asian Financial Cooperation Association, for the purpose of improving Asia’s financial market. Thirdly, to jointly deepen integrated development. We should align the "Belt and Road" initiative with regional strategies of development, and support connectivity as well as international cooperation in production capacity. Fourthly, to jointly promote openness and inclusiveness. China proposed to hold Dialogue of Asian Civilization and welcome the countries and regional cooperation organizations to join. Fifthly, to jointly stimulate the vitality of innovation. We should help the countries in this region achieve innovation-driven development and upgrade-driven growth.
