On 22-24 March 2016, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) had interactions with delegates from ASEAN countries, leaders of Hainan Provincial Government, representatives of entrepreneurs, think-tanks, media, etc., exchanged views with them on issues such as Asian regional cooperation and ASEAN-China relations, and had interviews with the local media.
Secretary-General Yang mentioned that this year marks the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations and the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange. It was also the first year after the establishment of ASEAN Community and the launch year of China’s 13th Five-Year Plan. We should take this opportunity to deepen the communication and cooperation in various fields, and contribute to the prosperity and development of this region. ACC would like to enhance coordination with all parties, to make a joint effort to push ASEAN-China relations to a new height.
The above-mentioned guests agreed with Secretary-General Yang’s view. They spoke highly of ACC’s achievement, appreciated ACC’s efforts in promoting ASEAN-China functional cooperation, and hoped to strengthen communication with ACC, to explore the potential for cooperation, for the benefits of the people in this region.
