On 4 March 2016, Vice Chairperson of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (SCLF) Mme. She Jing visited ASEAN-China Centre (ACC). Ms. Song Jian, Deputy Director of the Department of International Relations of SCLF, and Ms. Huang Ying, Director of the General Affairs and Coordination Division of ACC attended the meeting at ACC.
ACC Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping accompanied Mme. She Jing to tour the photo exhibition of ACC and made a briefing on the development of ACC and its efforts to promote ASEAN-China cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism and information. She thanked SCLF for its support to ACC, saying that the people-to-people exchanges and cooperation jointly carried out between ACC and SCLF had produced good outcome. 2016 marked the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations and the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange. ACC looked forward to strengthening communication and coordination with SCLF with a view to making joint efforts to make fresh contributions to promoting functional cooperation between ASEAN and China.
Vice Chairperson She Jing commended ACC for its fruitful efforts to fulfill its mandates and showed appreciation to ACC for its support for SCLF. She briefed on SCLF’s background and expressed her expectation to further cement cooperation with ACC and, by giving full play to each organization’s own advantages, further expand ASEAN-China cooperation in youth, women’s affairs, education, culture, sports, etc., so as to boost friendship between the people of both sides.
