ACC Secretary-General Met with Vice President of Chengdu People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries

On 16 March 2016, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with Ms. Li Li, Vice President of the Chengdu People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (Chengdu PAFFC).

Vice President Li Li thanked ACC for it great support to Chengdu PAFFC, saying that Chengdu PAFFC had established good relations of cooperation with friendship associations, non-governmental organizations and friends from all walks of life in ASEAN, and conducted cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, education, sports, science and technology and tourism. Chengdu PAFFC hoped to strengthen cooperation with ACC and push forward cooperation between Chengdu city and non-governmental friendship associations and local governments of ASEAN countries.

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping said that people-to-people exchange was an important part of ASEAN-China cooperation. Chengdu PAFFC had made remarkable achievements to promote friendship between the people of Chengdu and ASEAN countries. In 2016, ACC would carry out a series of colourful activities in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism, culture and information to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations and the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange. ACC looked forward to conducting closer collaboration and exploring co-hosting events with Chengdu PAFFC with a view to supporting people-to-people friendship between ASEAN and Chengdu, and deepening ASEAN-China relations.
