ACC Secretary-General Had Interaction with Participants of the Lanzhou Fair

During the 22nd China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) had extensive exchange of views with the participants, including H.E. Mr. Wang Sanyun, Secretary of Gansu Provincial CPC Committee, H.E. Mr. Ouyang Jian, Deputy Secretary of Gansu Provincial CPC Committee, H.E. Mr. Wang Heshan, Vice Chairman of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, H.E. Mr. Meng Qiliang, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Guizhou Provincial Committee, Mr. Mu Shejun, Deputy Inspector of Gansu Provincial Department of Commerce, Ms. Chen Xueyan, Deputy Director-General of Gansu Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Philippe R. Scholtes, Managing Director of United Nations Industrial Development Organization, H.E. Mr. Rashid Alimov, Secretary-General of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Mr. Anoop Ranjan Bhattarai, President of Organization for South Asian Regional Friendship and Cooperation with China, Ms. Treasure Thembisile Maphanga, Director of Department of Trade and Industry of African Union Commission, Mr. Abdul Gani Kasuba, Governor of North Molucca Province of Indonesia, Mr. Sayyid Mehdi Sadeghi, Governor of Qom of Iran, Mr. Sharif Said, Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan, Ms. Rima Apasova, Vice President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyz, etc.

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping briefed on the mandate of ACC and its efforts on promoting practical cooperation between ASEAN and China since its establishment. In the field of trade and investment, ACC focused on advocating ASEAN-China trade and investment facilitation and publicizing FTA policies. ACC organized business delegations of Chinese entrepreneurs to ASEAN, and assisted ASEAN companies to familiarize Chinese market and find partners. Secretary-General Yang listened to the introduction of the participants and expressed the willingness to learn from each other through experiences sharing, and to join hands to boost the prosperity and development of ASEAN and China and the region as a whole.   

The participants appreciated ACC’s effective work on promoting ASEAN-China functional cooperation, especially in the area of trade and investment. They valued the bridging role of ACC and hoped to strengthen communication with ACC through information sharing, and explore possibility of future cooperation to inject new impetus to the friendly relations between the local provinces of China and relevant countries and regions.
