ACC Secretary-General Met With Chairman of Jilin University Council

On 15 July 2016, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang xiuping met with Mr. Yang Zhenbin, Chairman of Jilin University Council at ACC. Ms. Zhang Guangcui, Director of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchanges of Jilin University, Ms Huangying, Director of the General Affairs and Coordination Division of ACC, and Ms Zhang Jing, education officer of ACC attended the meeting.

Mme. Yang Xiuping welcomed the visit of Mr. Yang Zhenbin and his colleague and thanked Jilin University for its significant contributions to the success of ASEAN-China Forum of Youth and Humanities held in June. She said that ACC had held a series of colorful educational exchange activities around the ASEAN-China Year of Educational Exchange and had achieved fruitful results. This week the 1st ASEAN-China Youth Summer Camp organized by ACC had kicked off. Besides, at the beginning of August in Guiyang the 9th China-ASEAN Education Cooperation week (CAECW) would be held during which ACC would co-sponsor or support a wide range of activities in order to play a positive role in promoting ASEAN-China education exchange. Jilin University, with its obvious strength, complete disciplines and curricula, is recognized as the largest university in terms of scale of running a school in China. ACC would like to strengthen cooperation and communication with Jilin University to make fresh contributions to the development of ASEAN-China relations in the field of  humanity, especially in exchange and cooperation between youths.

Mr. Yang Zhenbin briefed on the development of the university and the general situation of international exchange. He expressed gratitude to ACC for its support to Jilin University and pointed out that Jilin University would like to give full play to its advantages to further expand educational exchanges with ASEAN countries. He expected to strengthen cooperation with ACC and jointly implement various forms of exchange programs including ASEAN-China Youth Winter Camp to further enhance ASEAN-China education cooperation.

Mr. Yang Zhenbin and his colleague were also guided to the photo exhibition on ASEAN-China relations and the development of ACC in the ASEAN Hall of ACC.
