ACC Secretary-General Met With Vice President of China Public Diplomacy Association

On 19 July 2016, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with Mr. Gong Jianzhong, Executive Vice President of China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA) at the ACC Secretariat. Ms. Zheng Liping, Director of Communication Department of CPDA, and Ms. Huang Ying, Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division (GACD) of ACC attended the meeting.

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping expressed thanks to CPDA for the great support given to ACC. She said ACC together with CPDA had held and supported many China-ASEAN cultural exchange activities since last year, and achieved good results. 2016 marked the 25th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between ASEAN and China. ACC had been actively implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of both sides, making solid progress in promoting functional cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism and media. ACC would take further steps to strengthen the communication and coordination with CPDA, and jointly carry out more colorful exchange activities, so as to play a positive role in promoting the development of ASEAN-China relations.

Vice President Mr. Gong Jianzhong gave a brief on the latest work of CPDA. He said that CPDA aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between China and the rest of the world, and  focused its work mainly on participating in and promoting ASEAN-China friendly exchanges and cooperation. ACC, as an inter-governmental organization, possessed abundant resources and unique advantages. CPDA would like to continue to work with ACC to hold relevant activities with a view to promoting people-to-people friendship between China and ASEAN and making further contribution to ASEAN-China functional cooperation.
