​ACC Secretary-General Met With Official-in-Charge of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City

On 20 July 2016, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with Mr. Yang Zhize, Vice Chairman of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Administrative Committee, and exchanged views on the cooperation between ACC and Eco-City. Ms. Xu Yanyun and Ms. Lu Yu of the Tianjin Eco-City Administrative Committee attended the meeting.

Vice Chairman Yang Zhize welcomed Secretary-General Yang Xiuping to visit the Eco-City, and briefed on the overall development of the Eco-City. He said that as an inter-governmental cooperation project, Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City would provide a fine example of building a resource conservative and environmental friendly society. It was attached great importance by the governments of China and Singapore. He greatly appreciated ACC for supporting the development and construction of the Eco-City, and said that with the assistance of ACC, the construction of ASEAN Commercial Centre in the Eco-City had made steady progress. The two sides were discussing holding Lantern Festival cultural activities in the Commercial Centre, and having cooperation in terms of animation science and technology between Animation Park of Tianjin Eco-City and ASEAN. The Administrative Committee would like to strengthen communication with ACC, to actively enhance friendly exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN and promote the development of the Eco-City to a new level.

Secretary-General Yang Xiuping spoke highly of the achievements of the Eco-City and introduced ACC’s function and its recent work. She said ACC aimed at implementing the important consensus reached by the leaders of ASEAN and China and pushing forward functional cooperation in the area of trade, investment, education, culture and tourism. It would continuously facilitate exchanges and cooperation among local governments of ASEAN and China. ACC had established good cooperation relations with the Eco-City, and the relative joint projects were pushed forward smoothly. ACC would keep close communication and coordination with the Eco-City to further expand and enrich the existing cooperation making greater contribution to deepen ASEAN-China cooperation.

Accompanied by the staff of Eco-City Administrative Committee, Secretary-General Yang also visited the construction site of ASEAN Commercial Centre and was briefed on the progress by the project manager.
