Mayor of Leshan Visited ACC

On 29 July 2016, Mr. Zhang Tong, Mayor of Leshan and his delegation visited the Secretariat of ASEAN-China Centre(ACC) and was warmly welcomed by ACC officials from all the four divisions, including Director of Education Culture and Tourism (ECTD), Director of Trade and Investment, as well as officials from Information Public Relations Division (IPRD) and General Affairs and Coordination. The Delegation from Leshan comprised of Leshan Municipal People’s Congress, Leshan Municipal Tourism & Sports Development Committee, representatives from Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) and Beijing Sunny International Convention & Exhibition Ltd. 

At the Meeting, Mr. Tri Purnajaya, Director of ECTD, gave a brief on the latest development of ASEAN-China relations and ACC’s work. Mr. Xu Tong from IPRD introduced ACC’s organizational structure and the general function of all the divisions. Director Tri Purnajaya expressed his appreciation to the Mayor for his visit to ACC and praised the efforts of Leshan in promoting the development and internationalization of tourism with ASEAN countries, and its keen interest to develop relations with ACC. Mr. Tri Purnajaya also informed the Meeting that ACC as a bridge and facilitator, has been working hand-in-hand with governments, regional partners and institutions to establish platforms and networks to pave the way for more exchanges between both sides. 

Mayor Zhang Tong thanked ACC for welcoming the delegation, introduced Leshan’s tourism sector and introduced the 3rd Sichuan International Travel Expo (SCITE). He also expressed his hope to work closer and collaborate with ACC in future activities.
