ACC Secretary-General Met with Charge D’Affairs of Chinese Embassy in Thailand

On 31 August 2016,  ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping met with Charge D’Affairs of Chinese Embassy in Thailand Mr. Wu Zhiwu. Counsellor Yang Yang from the Embassy was present.

Secretary-General Yang thanked the Chinese Embassy in Thailand for the strong support to ACC. She said 2016  marked the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-China dialogue relations and Year of Educational Exchange. It also marked the first year after the realization of ASEAN Community, and of China’s 13th Five Year Plan. ACC was carrying out 19 flagship projects, and hosted series of commemorative activities such as ASEAN-China Week, ASEAN-China Day Fair, Gala Performance, etc. ACC would like to maintain close coordination with the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and elevate the cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture and tourism to higher level, and make new contribution to ASEAN-China relations.

Charge D’Affairs Wu Zhiwu commended ACC’s relentless efforts to promote ASEAN-China practical cooperation and people-to-people connectivity. ACC as inter-governmental organization, enjoyed abundant resource and unique advantages. The Chinese Embassy in Thailand would as always fully support ACC’s work, promote Thailand-China and ASEAN-China functional cooperation, and promote development and prosperity in the region.
