On the evening of 6 September 2016, President of the Philippines H.E. Mr. Rodrigo Duterte delivered remarks during the ASEAN Business & Investment Summit. ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping and about 400 participants including diplomatic envoys in Laos, government officials, entrepreneurs, scholars and journalists attended the event.
President Duterte made several suggestions on ASEAN’s development, including supporting MSMEs, e-commerce, youth and women entrepreneurship, promoting GMS, BIMP-EAGA and other subregional cooperation, accelerating infrastructure development, increasing economic engagement with the world by giving full play to ASEAN Plus FTAs for mutual benefit, addressing transnational crimes with strong resolve, etc.
After delivering remarks, President Duterte had photo session with members of ASEAN Business Advisory Council and the Philippine entrepreneurs who won the ASEAN Business Awards.
