A Series of Activities Was Held during China-ASEAN Cultural Forum

On 10 September 2016, a series of activities including Keynote Speeches, Round Table Meeting for Heads of the Arts Schools and Institutes of China and ASEAN Member States was held after the opening of the 11th ASEAN-China Cultural Forum. Heads of the Arts Schools and Institutes of China and ASEAN, representatives of arts and educational institutes, experts, scholars, representatives of ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN Foundation attended these activities.

Keynote speech guests introduced their efforts to improve the development of cultural and arts education of their colleges respectively. They spoke out and offered advice and suggestions on the development of vocational arts education, arts inheritance and how to run vocational arts college with its characteristics. They hoped that by holding ASEAN-China Cultural Forum, the two sides could keep enhancing pragmatic cooperation on cultural and arts education. The official from ASEAN Secretariat spoke highly on the great efforts that ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) had made to improve ASEAN-China functional cooperation in the field of culture and education.

At the Round Table Meeting, guests emphasized on the significance of strengthening arts educational cooperation so as to protect and pass on the history, culture and traditions of each country to next generations and to promote the growth of regional and world arts education as well. The Meeting reached consensus on further deepening exchanges and cooperation between arts colleges of China and ASEAN and discussed and passed the Minutes of Round Table Meeting of the Heads of the Arts Schools and Institutes of China and ASEAN Member States.

At the 11th ASEAN-China Cultural Forum, ACC Secretary-General Yang Xiuping interacted with the guests from both China and ASEAN, exchanged ideas on expanding and deepening cultural and educational exchange and cooperation and listened to the opinions and suggestions from all sides for ACC’s work in the future.

Mr. Sun Jianhua, Deputy-Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division, Mr. Zhang Xuehai, Deputy-Director of Information and Public Relations of ACC attended the above-mentioned events.
