ACC Participated in the 3rd Special ASEAN Tourism Competitiveness Committee Meeting on Visit ASEAN @ 50

ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) participated in the 3rd Special ASEAN Tourism Competitiveness Committee Meeting on Visit ASEAN @ 50, which was successfully concluded in Bandar Seri Begawan of Brunei Darussalam on 10 October 2016. The intention of the meeting included further discussing on the progress of the implementation of activities involving dialogue partners, international organizations and tourism-reletaed stakeholders to share views on possible collaborations on implementing Visit ASEAN @ 50 campaign. Officials from the ASEAN Secretariat and National Tourism Organizations (NTOs) of 10 ASEAN countries in charge of tourism marketing, representatives from ACC, ASEAN-Japan Centre, Air Asia, and other relevant tourism sectors participated in the said meeting.

Mr. Chen Kesong, Tourism Officer of ECTD delivered a presentation and exchanged views with representatives. In his presentation, Mr. Kesong commended the ASEAN countries and ASEAN Secretariat for their strong and continued support to ACC. He briefed on ACC’s mandate and achievements since its inception and highlights of the flagship projects and main events of ACC to promote ASEAN-China cooperation in the area of tourism this year. He cited that the year 2017 has been declared as the ASEAN-China Year of Tourism Cooperation and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN.  Thus, ACC would take the opportunity to combine the said theme with the Visit ASEAN @ 50 theme so as to promote the exchanges and cooperation between ACC, ASEAN countries, and related institutions as well as to enhance greater tourism development and prosperity in the region.
