ACC Participated in the First Meeting of China-ASEAN National Tourism Organizations

The first China-ASEAN Meeting of National Tourism Organizations was held in Guilin, Guangxi Province on 21 October 2016. The meeting was held to echo the spirit of the 18th and 19th China-ASEAN (10+1) leaders’ meeting. The main topics of the meeting were speeding up the construction of communication and cooperation mechanism between China and ASEAN Tourism Authorities, making good arrangements for the China-ASEAN Year of Tourism Cooperation in 2017, and exploring ways of further deepening practical cooperation. The Meeting was attended by the representatives of China National Tourism Administration, tourism authorities of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Vietnam, the ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN-China Centre (ACC). Mr. Du Jiang, Vice Chairman of China National Tourism Administration   attended and addressed the meeting.

During the meeting, Ms. Kong Roatlomang, Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ACC delivered remarks and exchanged views with representatives. She briefed the meeting on the active role ACC had played in terms of building tourism partnership between China and ASEAN and exploring new ways to encourage tourism exchanges. She said that ACC has conducted various activities such as: capacity building programmes, tourism promotion, promote the diversified and rich tourism resources in ASEAN, translate tourism materials, etc. 2017 has been designated as China-ASEAN Year of Tourism Cooperation, ACC had planned a series of activities with a focus on sustainable tourism development, eco-tourism development and quality tourism in addition to its routine activities, thus this will enhance greater tourism development and prosperity in the region.
