ACC Secretary-General Met with Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Dongying City

On 4 November 2016, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary General H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping met with Mr. Li Jinkun, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Dongying City, Shandong Province at ACC.  Ms. Huang Ying, Director of Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division of ACC, Mr. Tang Xinjun, Director of the Liaison Office of Dongying City in Beijing, and other officials attended the meeting.

Deputy Director Li Jinkun introduced the current economic and social development of Dongying city. He said that Dongying city actively implemented the “Belt and Road” initiative. The enterprises in Dongying city would like to further enhance the cooperation with ASEAN countries in the areas of rubber and tyres and hope to get ACC’s support for their future work. 

Secretary General Yang briefed on ACC’s mandate and recent works. She mentioned that as the inter-governmental international organization co-founded by the Governments of ASEAN Member States and China, ACC made an active effort in promoting ASEAN-China functional cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, and so on. Thus, ACC would like to enhance its coordination with Dongying city, to assist China’s local provinces and cities in strengthening cooperation with ASEAN countries so as to achieve win-win results.
