ACC Secretary-General Attended the Hong Kong Summit Panels and Interacted with Participants

On 11 July 2017, H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), attended the Panels of Hong Kong Summit, and interacted with the participants.

Mr. Patrick Ip, Managing Director of China-ASEAN Investment Cooperation Fund, Mr. Lin Jingzhen, Deputy Chief Executive, Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, Mr. Jim Lai, Vice President of Tencent, Mr. David W Adams, Chief Executive Officer of the International Business Unit of SF Express Co., Ltd., Mr. Lincoln Leong Kwok-kuen, Chief Executive Officer of MTR Cooperation Limited, Dr. David Deng, General Manager of Capital Investment & Management Department of China Merchants Group, Dr. Kriengsak Chareonwongsak, President of Institute of Future Studies for Development in Thailand, Mr. Lee Heng Guie, Executive Director of Social-Economic Research Centre (SERC) of the Associated Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, Mr. Joe Seunghyun Cho, Co-founder and Chairman of Marvelstone Group, and Mr. Jason Chiu, Founder and CEO of Cherrypicks took part in the panel discussions, and had an active discussion on the prospect of East Asian markets, as well as the new market of East Asian digital economy. They shared the view that at present, East Asia is facing new developing opportunities. The parties should make good use of the existing mechanisms and policies, exploring for innovative business models and realizing a win-win result.

SG Yang Xiuping interacted with the participants on topics such as enhancing East Asia trade and investment cooperation, promoting ASEAN-China relationship, etc. She said that the Belt and Road building and the formation of ASEAN Community gave fresh and strong impetus to regional integration. All parties should seize the opportunities and strive for a win-win result through cooperation as well as promote the development and prosperity of this region. ACC would like to make joint efforts with all parties to contribute to the further development of ASEAN-China relations and East Asia Cooperation.
