ACC Held 2018 Spring Festival Reception

On 31 January 2018, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) held Spring Festival Reception in Beijing. A total number of approximately 150 guests were present including H.E. Mme. Gu Xiulian, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People’s Congress, President of China-ASEAN Association, H.E. Mr. Tian Xuejun, Vice Minister of Education of China, H.E. Mr. Zhou Mingwei, President of Translators Association of China, Mr. Wu Jianghao, Director-General of Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Mr. Peng Gang, Director-General of Department of Asian Affairs of Ministry of Commerce of China, Ambassadors of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand to China, representatives from other ASEAN Member States and ASEAN dialogue partner countries, international organizations, officials from the line ministries and local provinces and municipalities of China as well as ACC partners.

H.E. Mme. Yang Xiuping, Secretary-General of ACC, thanked all friends from ASEAN Member States, China and other relevant countries and international organizations for their great support to the work of ACC. Secretary-General Yang said that 2017 was a significant year for both ASEAN and China. ASEAN celebrated its 50th anniversary and the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China unshared in a new era and a new journey of China's development. ASEAN-China relations have maintained a good momentum of development as evidenced by deepened political mutual trust, closer economic cooperation and intensified people-to-people exchanges, and the progress in the joint building of the Belt and Road. The year 2018 marks the 15th anniversary of ASEAN-China strategic partnership and the ASEAN-China Year of Innovation, which will bring new opportunities and broader prospects to future cooperation of both sides. ACC will redouble its efforts with spirit of innovation to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both sides and carry out 21 flagship projects approved by the 7th ACC Joint Council Meeting. ACC will continue to improve itself and make new and greater contributions to the friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between ASEAN and China. She hoped that various sectors of ASEAN and China would continue to follow and support the work of ACC. 

In a warm atmosphere, students and teachers from ASEAN countries and China gave wonderful performances. The guests interacted with each other on deepening ASEAN-China friendly exchanges and practical cooperation in various fields and bright prospects of ASEAN-China relations.
