On 21 March 2018, 39 Lao officials attending the 2018 Seminar on China’s Development Aid Project paid a visit to ASEAN-China Centre (ACC). Led by Mr. Subanh Vichittra, Deputy Chief of the Cabinet of Lao-China Cooperation Committee of Ministry of Planning and Investment of Lao PDR, the delegation visited the exhibition hall of ACC and held talks with ACC officials.
Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of Trade and Investment Division of ACC, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He said that serving as a unique bond and important platform for ASEAN-China friendly exchanges and practical cooperation, ACC wishes to strengthen communication and explore the potential of cooperation with all circles in Lao PDR to achieve new outcomes in Lao-China and ASEAN-China cooperation and the building of the Belt and Road.
Ms. Kong Roat Lomang, Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Department, together with officials from other divisions of ACC, briefed on ACC’s organizational structure, recent work and work plan on trade and investment, education, culture and tourism as well as information and media. The delegation and ACC officials exchanged views on how to strengthen ASEAN-China trade and economic relations.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Subanh Vichittra extended gratitude to ACC’s warm hospitality and appreciated the important role played by ACC in promoting Lao-China practical cooperation.
He said that main purpose of the delegation was to learn advanced experience of all aspects of China, so as to provide a useful reference for the economic and social development of Lao PDR. He hoped that the Lao-China Cooperation Committee and ACC will keep close contact and deepen cooperation through mutual visits and co-hosting activities.
