On April 17 2018, the "China Brand Global Strategic Development Forum” was held in Beijing. The forum was hosted by Nielsen, a world-renowned market research company, and co-organized by the China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations. The forum brought together around 200 participants including representatives from National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, foreign embassies in China, and representatives of companies from provinces and cities in China. Representative from ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) also participated in the event.
The forum invited industry experts, Chinese companies, and officials from Embassies of Indonesia, the Philippines, Turkish and Pakistan to interpret the issues concerning fast-moving consumer goods, automobile consumption trends, and retail environment in the related developing countries along the Belt and Road. It also provided the Chinese enterprises with information on the general investment environment and related industries in their targeted investment countries, as well as services such as pre-investment market surveys and solutions, in order to give support to companies going global.
