On 22 May, the delegation of 2018 ASEAN Plus Three (China, Japan and ROK) Training Program on Understanding China visited ASEAN-China Centre (ACC).
The delegation toured around the ACC Picture Exhibition and obtained understanding about the history of ACC while exchanged views with ACC officials. Ms. Huang Ying, Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division of ACC, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefed them on ACC’s mission as well as the latest development of ASEAN-China relations. She pointed out that ACC will forge ahead to fulfill the role of one-stop information and activities centre and strive to make new contributions in strengthening practical cooperation between ASEAN and China by seizing the opportunity of 2018 as both the 15th Anniversary of ASEAN-China Strategic Partnership and the designated Year of Innovation. Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of Trade and Investment Division, Mr. Vithit Powattanasuk, Director of Information and Public Relations Division, and Ms. Zhou Hui, Deputy Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division, introduced on the work of each division in promoting ASEAN-China exchanges and cooperation in relative fields. They hoped that the trainees will obtain further understanding about China and place more attention and support to ACC’s work, thus playing an active role in advancing the‘10+3’cooperation.
Mr. Ma Zhongwu, Deputy Director of School of Asian and African Affairs of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Ms. Someth Somnea, Official from Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, gave remarks on behalf of the organizer and trainees of this programme. While extending their appreciation to ACC’s hospitality, they emphasized that closer ASEAN-China cooperation is of great significance and collaboration in pursuing the Belt and Road Initiative is conducive to the common development of the whole region. The visiting trainees had pleasant exchanges with ACC officials of different divisions and were deeply impressed by ACC’s work.
