About 200 representatives from ASEAN countries' embassies, international organizations, Chinese and foreign business associations, enterprises and media attended the Seminar.

In his speech, Mr. Chen Dehai said that ASEAN is a priority and an important partner in the international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Chambers of commerce and industry associations are not only important links between governments, enterprises and the society, but also an important civil force driving the building of the “Belt and Road”. ACC will continue to give full play to its role as an information and activities centre and strengthen cooperation with Chinese and ASEAN chambers of commerce and industry associations to promote the business environments of China and ASEAN and jointly organize economic, trade and cultural and people-to-people exchange activities, so as to bring more business opportunities and benefits to ASEAN and Chinese companies and elevate ASEAN-China practical cooperation to a new level.

Saying that ASEAN countries are China’s close neighbors, Mr. Liu Yang hoped that the Seminar will become a model for strengthening cooperation and creating opportunities for Chinese and ASEAN business associations.

Mr. Zhu Defu hoped that the Seminar would help promote cooperation between Chinese enterprises from private sectors and ASEAN countries and further drive innovation and development of the private economy.

Mr. Li Zhenyu, Deputy CEO of the Doof Group, said in his speech that ASEAN is one of the most dynamic emerging markets in the world. As a representative of modern Chinese private enterprises, Doof is ready to work with friends of ASEAN to create a new chapter of cooperation and development.

At the Seminar, economic and business counselours from the embassies of ASEAN countries such as Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam introduced the trade and investment environment of their own countries and related investment promotion policies, which was warmly received by the participating enterprises.

With the theme of “Innovation Creates Opportunities, Cooperation Boosts Development”, the Seminar aims to help more investment institutions and enterprises to identify the starting point and priorities of cooperation by interpreting the investment policies and business environments of China and ASEAN countries, so as to jointly explore new developments in ASEAN-China economic and trade cooperation.
