On 10 April 2019, the 4th Inside BRI Talk of Tsinghua University--Southeast Asia: ASEAN and Belt & Road Initiative was held at Tsinghua XSpace. Ms. Wang Hongliu, Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division (GACD) of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the activity and delivered a keynote speech. Around 100 international students and scholars from Tsinghua University and nearby universities participated in the workshop.
The workshop was hosted by the Student Association of the Belt and Road Initiative (SABRI) of Tsinghua University. Ms. Wang Hongliu shared observations on ASEAN-China relations and recommendations on connecting the BRI and ASEAN development strategies. She also briefed on the mandate of ACC and its role in promoting exchanges and deepening cooperation between ASEAN and China.
Guest speakers from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei shared their countries’ experience of how BRI cooperation benefits development at national and regional level. They all expressed confidence in the broad prospects of ASEAN-China relations. The guest speakers also had lively interactions with students and scholars.
