ACC Successfully Co-hosted the China (Dongying)-ASEAN Rubber Tire and Auto Parts Industry and Investment Summit (2019-05-16)

On 16 May 2019, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) successfully co-hosted the China (Dongying) -ASEAN Rubber Tire and Auto Parts Industry and Investment Summit & “Hometown of Sun Wu - Investment in Guangrao” Promotion Conference with CCPIT Dongying Sub-council and People’s Government of Guangrao County, Dongying City, Shandong Province.

Mr. Feng Yidong, Vice Mayor of Dongying, and Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of Trade and Investment Division of ACC, delivered welcoming remarks. Mr. Guo Chuanwei said that the forum was expected to help promote exchanges and cooperation between Guangrao and ASEAN countries, share the benefits of building the Belt and Road, deepen cooperation in trade and investment in the rubber tire and auto parts industry, so as to achieve complementary advantages and common development.

Senior officials of the embassies of ASEAN Member States in China, including Mme. Donlaporn Ajavavarakula, Minister Counsellor of the Royal Thai Embassy, Mme. Marina Novira Anggraini, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Indonesia, and Mr. Glenn G. Penaranda, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of the Philippines, made presentations on rubber industry development policies and preferential conditions for attracting foreign investment in their respective countries. Mr. Xi Mushan, Deputy County Mayor of Guangrao & Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangrao County briefed on the economic and social development and investment environment in Guangrao. Nearly 300 participants including domestic and foreign exhibitors, representatives from rubber tire and auto parts manufacturing industries and international purchasers attended the summit.

Round-table dialogue with the theme of “Partnership, Cooperation, Win-Win” was also held during the summit. Representatives from leading local enterprise including Huatai Group, Hengfeng Rubber Plastics Group and Huasheng Group conducted in-depth exchanges with officials of AMS embassies on the policies of investment concerning land, finance, taxation, environmental protection and security in ASEAN countries.
