On 30 April 2019, a working group meeting on the theme of "Regional Connectivity and Sustainability Connecting the Belt and Road Initiative and the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025" was held by the Network of ASEAN-China Think Tanks (NACT) in Langkawi Island of Malaysia. Ms. Wang Hongliu, Director of General Affairs and Coordination Division (GACD) of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the meeting and gave a presentation. She also exchanged views with the scholars from ASEAN countries and China and representatives from international organizations.
The meeting was co-organized by the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia and China Foreign Affairs University. Guest speakers shared their countries’ experience of how BRI cooperation benefits prosperity at national and regional level. They all expressed confidence in the broad prospects of ASEAN-China partnership. Ms. Wang Hongliu shared views on connecting the BRI and MPAC 2025. She also briefed on the mandate of ACC and its role in promoting exchanges and deepening cooperation between ASEAN and China. Participants from all sides expressed interest in working with ACC.
