With great support of the CAEXPO Secretariat, ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) successfully set up a booth at the 16th CAEXPO from 21 to 24 September 2019. This marked the seventh year in a row that ACC presented at the CAEXPO.
ACC booth featured ACC’s major functions and showcased its latest achievements in pushing forward ASEAN-China practical cooperation in trade, investment, education, culture, tourism, information and media through light box photos and English-Chinese bilingual materials including publications and videos. Interactive activities were also conducted via new media platforms.
ACC booth attracted numerous visitors to consult and take photos. Well-known Chinese corporations such as the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) and the China Pacific Construction Group (CPCG), along with many medium, small and micro-sized enterprises (MSMEs), visited ACC booth to discuss about potential cooperation. ACC booth was also visited and reported by journalists from home and abroad, and covered live by China Global Television Network (CGTN). Through ACC booth, visitors acquired a better understanding of ASEAN-China relations.
With the theme of “Building the Belt & Road, Realizing Our Vision for a Community of Shared Future”, the16th CAEXPO aimed to deepen cooperation in trade, connectivity, finance, digital economy, social development and people-to-people exchanges and to promote the advancement of important mechanisms and programmes including the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Guangxi pilot free trade zone and the financial opening-up gateway for ASEAN, etc. The 16th CAEXPO accommodated up to 7,000 booths, among which 1,774 were registered by exhibitors from ASEAN countries and beyond. Seven ASEAN countries took independent exhibition halls to showcase their own commodities and services. This year, the CAEXPO attracted 2,848 exhibitors, with an increase of 2.4% year-on-year. In addition, 90 trade and investment promoting activities were held during the expo.
