On 21 September 2020, the 52nd Meeting of ASEAN National Tourism Organizations (NTOs) co-hosted by Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and Cambodian Ministry of Tourism was held online. The delegates of the ten Member States of ASEAN, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), the ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC), the ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) and relevant international organizations attended the meeting by video link.
The delegates reported their organisation’s work respectively in the field of tourism since the year of 2019, shared the latest tourism data and exchanged views on how to revitalize the regional tourism industry while meeting the need of containing the COVID-19 pandemic. ACC representative gave an update of the progress in its three tourism flagship projects and the ongoing online promotion of ASEAN tourism. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), ASEAN Tourism Association and ASEAN Tourism Research Association released their latest research results and put forward some proposals for regional tourism recovery and development.
