On the morning of 20 September 2020, China Forum on International Ecological Competitiveness 2020 was held in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia. The forum brought together ambassadors and embassy officials from Asia, Africa and Europe. Mr. Dino R. Kusnadi, DCM and Minister of the Embassy of Indonesia in China and Mr. Guo Chuanwei, Director of the Trade and Investment Division of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the forum upon invitation.
The forum was co-organized by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC), National Committee of Population, Resources and Environment of the CPPCC, National Forestry and Grassland Administration and the People’s Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. With the theme of “pursuing innovation-driven and green development to build a bright future”, the forum aims to explore a new path of ecological conservation and green development. In addition to the opening ceremony, the forum also held three parallel sub-forums, as well as projects related to green industry and research activities.
In the afternoon, Director Guo Chuanwei attended the parallel sub-forum titled “Inner Mongolia Green Industry Fair” and delivered remarks. He pointed out that Inner Mongolia is committed to implementing the concept of green development, increasing support to ecological conservation, and promoting international exchanges and cooperation to turn ecological advantages into economic benefits. He also said that there’s great potential and complementarity for such cooperation between Inner Mongolia and ASEAN, which is a crucial area of the BRI international cooperation. ACC is ready to play its due role as a one-stop information and activity centre in promoting Inner Mongolia including Hulunbuir City to ASEAN countries and enhance exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN in various fields.
China Forum on International Ecological Competitiveness is one of the most representative nation-level conferences in China’s ecological industry. Eight sessions have been successfully held since 2008. The forum has become an important platform for high-level dialogue and practical cooperation in the ecological field.
