ACC Secretary-General Chen Dehai Visited the Demonstration Zone of Local Economic and Trade Cooperation of China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization

On 23 September 2020, Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), visited the Demonstration Zone of Local Economic and Trade Cooperation of China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Jiaozhou, Shandong Province (hereinafter referred to as the SCO Demonstration Zone). Mr. Xiang Zhiqiang, Deputy Director of the SCO Demonstration Zone Management Committee, accompanied the visit.

 

Secretary-General Mr. Chen Dehai toured around the exhibition hall and the Qingdao-SCO International Hall where he learnt about the background, development history and future plan of the SCO Demonstration Zone. He exchanged views with the Management Committee on enhancing horizontal connection between ACC and the SCO Demonstration Zone to jointly build a new platform for the Belt and Road international cooperation.

 

As one of the deliverables of the SCO Qingdao Summit, the SCO Demonstration Zone will help Qingdao play a bigger part in the Belt and Road international cooperation, and make new ground in pursuing opening-up on all fronts for greater economic and trade cooperation with nations of SCO.

 

During his stay in Shandong Province, Mr. Chen Dehai also visited key projects including China Transfar (SCO) International Logistics Port and the Qingdao Memorial Hall of CPC History upon invitation of the Qingdao Foreign Affairs Office.
