ACC Attended ASEAN Ladies' Circle Afternoon Tea Gathering

On 29 March 2021, Ms. Wang Hongliu, Director of the General Affairs and Coordination Division, and Ms. Zhou Hui, Deputy Director of the Education, Culture and Tourism Division of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), attended the ASEAN Ladies’ Circle Afternoon Tea Gathering themed “Reflection of Peranakan Culture” at the residence of the Malaysian Ambassador to China. Mrs. Tengku Sofia Dora, spouse of Mr. Raja Nushirwan, Malaysian Ambassador to China, delivered awelcome speech.

Female diplomats from the Malaysian Embassy in China and their children showcased the life scenes of Peranakan Culture and performed local dances.

Around 80 ladies attended the Gathering, among them were female ambassadors, ambassadors’ spouses, female diplomats and diplomats’ spouses from embassies of ASEAN Member States (AMS), and female ambassadors and ambassadors’ spouses from other countries. All the ladies spent a convivial time together, enjoying delicious food of Baba Nyonya and appreciating the exquisite handicrafts and costumes of Malaysia.
