On 24 April 2021, the Opening Ceremony of the China-ASEAN Business Centre (hereinafter referred to as “the Centre”) was held in Nanning,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Mr. Zhang Xiaoqin, Vice Chair of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Guangxi and Commander-in-Chief of the Construction Headquarters of China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone (GXFTZ), and Mr. Liu Hongwu, Vice Chairman of Guangxi People’s Government and Director-General of Guangxi Development and Reform Commission, jointly unveiled the Centre. Around 100 people attended the activity, among them were the Special Commissioner to Nanning of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, Consuls General and Commercial Consuls of ASEAN Member States (AMS) in Nanning, and representatives from Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, AMS commercial representative offices, business associations and enterprises. Mr. He Fei, Deputy Director of the Information and Public Relations Division of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), attended the opening ceremony and visited the Centre upon invitation.
The China-ASEAN Business Centre is one of the major innovation demonstration projects of the GXFTZ. Aiming at building a “one-stop” service platform for ASEAN-China economic and trade cooperation through the methods of “B&M Platforms + Sector Consolidation + Globalization”, the Centre carries out its mission in 10 focus areas: trade and investment, legal service, finance, logistics, digital information, technology innovation incubation, agricultural economy cooperation, culture and tourism cooperation, talent service and transnational institutions.
