On 31 August 2021, upon the invitation of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) co-organised the TVET Online Workshop.
Mr. Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, addressed the opening ceremony. He stated that the successful model and experience of vocational education reform and development of China would provide favourable reference for Indonesia, and expressed his expectations for deepening the practical cooperation in this field between the two sides. He also extended his heartfelt gratitude to ACC for its long-standing contribution to promoting comprehensive exchanges and collaboration among ASEAN Member States (AMS) and China, especially between Indonesia and China in fields of education, trade and economy, and culture.
Mr. Wang Yongli, Secretary- General of CEAIE, introduced the policies, achievements and reforms of vocational education in China and shared the experience of the integration of industry and education and the promotion of students’ internship and employment. He hoped that both sides would enhance cooperation between vocational colleges under the China-Indonesia People-to-People Exchange Mechanism.
Professor Liu Yufeng, Director of the Division for International Cooperation and Comparative Education Research at the Central Institute of Vocational and Technical Education (CIVTE) of the Ministry of Education of China, Professor Ji Wenlin from Jiangsu Agri-animal Husbandry Vocational College (JSAHVC), and Professor Cen Yong from Ningbo Polytechnic, gave presentations on topics such as TVET policies, reforms and experience in China, measures and experience of integration of production and education of Chinese vocational colleges, measures and experience of internship and employment of Chinese vocational college students respectively. Heads of nearly 100 Indonesian polytechnics and vocational colleges attended the workshop and actively interacted with the three speakers.
Mr. Yaya Sutarya, Education and Culture Attache of the Embassy of Indonesia in China, and Ms. He Wei, Education Officer of the Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ACC, attended the meeting.
