On 12 January 2022, Ms. Guo Ningning, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Fujian, met with foreign guests attending the first ASEAN-China Online Influencers Conference & Fujian Brands Promotion Tour along Maritime Silk Road. Mr. Djauhari Oratmangun, Ambassador of Indonesia to China, Mrs. Elsiwi Oratmangun, wife of the Indonesian Ambassador, Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), attended the meeting.
Vice Governor Guo Ningning briefed the guests on the latest development of Fujian Province. She said that ASEAN has become Fujian’s largest trading partner, the fourth largest source of foreign direct investment and the second largest overseas investment destination of Fujian enterprises. With the official entry-into-force of RCEP, Fujian and ASEAN are faced with new opportunities to strengthen cooperation in digital economy. She hoped that Fujian and ASEAN Member States (AMS) will take the Conference as an opportunity to deepen cooperation in cross-border e-commerce, talent training and other fields and build fast tracks for products from ASEAN to markets in China. She hoped that more efforts will be made to jointly build the demonstration zones for economic and trade innovation, cooperation and development under the Belt and Road Initiative, and a cross-border industrial chain with unique advantages oriented towards ASEAN and the world under the framework of RCEP.
Ambassador Djauhari Oratmangun said the ASEAN-China Online Influencers Conference will help promote the construction of digital economy infrastructure on both sides, promote economic development and people-to-people exchanges, transfer more positive energy and further enhance the close cooperation in multiple fields between the two sides.
Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ACC, expressed his gratitude to Fujian provincial government for the thoughtful arrangements for the Conference. He said that ACC will continue to play the role of a bridge and actively support and participate in friendly exchanges and practical cooperation in various fields between AMS and Fujian Province, and will make unremitting efforts to deepen the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Mr. Nelson Ng Chiun Ming, Consul General of Singapore to Xiamen, Ms. Maria Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena, Consul General of the Philippines to Xiamen, Mr. Benjamin Sukanjanajtee, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Thai Embassy in China, Mr. Sreng Sataro, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Cambodian Embassy in China, representatives of the embassies of Myanmar and Malaysia, and Indonesian and Vietnamese reporters in China attended the meeting.
