ACC Co-hosted a Cultural Experience Activity for ASEAN Female Diplomats with Embassy of Cambodia in China

On 11 March 2022, in order to celebrate the International Women’s Day, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) and the Embassy of Cambodia in China, as the representation of the rotating chair of ASEAN, co-hosted a Cultural Experience Activity for ASEAN Female Diplomats. Ms.Wang Hongliu, Director of the General Affairs and Coordination Division of ACC, Ms. Li Yaying, Deputy Director of the Education, Culture and Tourism Division of ACC, and about 30 ASEAN female diplomats and diplomatic spouses attended the event.

During the activity, the female diplomats listened to the experts from DuMei China Studio, watched an introduction video and learned about the origin, historical development, technological process and modern application of Chinese incense as well as the Chinese blend incense culture. During the immersive experience of the intangible culture heritage, everyone was full of joy, kneading incense clay into round ball shapes, pressing the clay balls into molds to make incense planks and appreciating each other’s works. 

The ASEAN female diplomats said the activity not only brought them wonderful festive experience, but also enhanced the friendship and liaison with ACC. The embassies of ASEAN Member States (AMS) and ACC hope to take this activity as an opportunity to conduct more exchanges on women’s development and friendly cooperation and promote the sustained and sound development of ASEAN-China relations with the wisdom and strength of women.
