On the morning of 27 April 2022, the opening ceremony of the China Education Opportunities Virtual Event 2022 – Study in China was successfully held. Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), Dr. Liu Limin, President of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), Dr. Chen Yinghui, Director-General-Level Inspector of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education of China, Mr. Yaya Sutarya, Education and Culture Attaché of the Embassy of Indonesia in China, Dr. Wang Bo, Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology, and Dr. Wang Hui, President of Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology addressed the opening ceremony via videos.
Mr. Chen Dehai stated that international exchanges and cooperation of education is the bridge for countries in the world to learn from each other and to achieve global inclusiveness and connectivity, greatly contributing to closer people-to-people ties. This event aims to provide a platform for shared information and deepened cooperation, and to promote global collaboration of higher and vocational education to a new level. ACC is willing to work with relevant parties to continuously explore new channels for future educational exchanges to advance bilateral people-to-people exchanges and economic and social development between ASEAN Member States (AMS) and China.
The virtual event is hosted by CEAIE, while ACC participated in the preparation and implementation as the supporting agency. Over 150 Chinese universities and colleges will participate in this 3-day live-stream and publicity to the globe from 27 to 29 April.
On the afternoon of 21 April, the Pre-Event Publicity Training was successfully held. Mr. Yaya Sutarya, and representatives from ACC, China International Communications Group, Beijing Normal University, Communication University of China and CEAIE conducted relevant training for participated universities and colleges.
