ASEAN-China Education Cooperation Exhibition Successfully Held

From 1 to 5 September 2022, hosted by Beijing Municipal Education Commission (BMEC), the Exhibition on Trade in Education Services in 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held at Shougang Park in Beijing. Themed “High-Quality Education Leading the Future”, the exhibition has set up three thematic areas, namely “Exchanges and Cooperation Leading to Win-win” “Technology Energizing Education” and “Public Welfare Assisting Education”, attracting 67 renowned educational institutions and enterprises domestic and abroad.

Upon invitation by the Organizing Committee of CIFTIS and BMEC, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) made full use of this platform collectively with Embassies of ASEAN Member States (AMS) in China to showcase the achievements in the field of ASEAN-China education cooperation. The exhibition included the development of educational flagship programmes of ACC since 2018, introduction of elite AMS universities, research outcome in fields of economic and trade investment, information and media of ACC, as well as educational and cultural products provided by AMS Embassies in China.

H. E. Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, Ambassador of Malaysia to China, Dr. Lu Yan, Vice Mayor of Beijing, Dr. Xia Linmao, Member of the Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal Party Committee, Dr. Huang Kan, Deputy Director-General of BMEC, and Mr. Wang Yongli, Vice President of the China Education Association for International Exchange visited the booth. Mr. Chindavong Xaiyasin, Education and Culture Counsellor of the Embassy of Lao PDR in China, Mr. Jason Choy Min Sheng, First Secretary and Executive Head of the Education Section of the Embassy of Malaysia in China, Mr. Ty Lico, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Cambodia in China, Mr. Yuk Sengponleur, Tourism Attaché from the Embassy of Cambodia in China, and Mr. Allen Carillo, Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Philippines in China actively participated in the exhibition and interacted with leaders and audiences at the booth.
