ACC Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun Attended Gannan High-level Opening-up Promotional Meeting

On 6 November 2022, the Gannan High-level Opening-up Promotional Meeting was held in Shanghai. The meeting is a side event of the 5th China International Import Expo.

Mr. Yin Meigen, Secretary of Party Leading Group and Vice Governor of Government of Jiangxi Province, Mr. Sheng Qiuping, Vice Minister of Commerce, and H. E. Mr. Shi Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), attended and addressed the meeting upon invitation. Mr. Vladimír Tomšík, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to China, delivered a video speech. Mr. Li Kejian, Deputy Secretary of CPC Ganzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Ganzhou, briefed on the social and economic development, planning of industry and local investment promotion policies. He also introduced Gannan navel orange and other products and brands with local characteristics.

Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun noted that Gannan has advantageous industries and products as well as unique cultures. ACC has always attached great importance to promoting Jiangxi. ACC once held the ASEAN-China (Jiangxi) Trade and Investment Promotion Seminar in Nanchang in 2019, and is going to carry out vocational education exchanges and other activities in Ganzhou in December this year, and attend the “Bay Area + Old District International Forum on Vocational Education Innovation and Development”. ACC is willing to actively play its role as a bridge and continually support Jiangxi and Ganzhou to carry out cooperation in various fields with ASEAN Member States (AMS) so as to make contribution to promoting a higher level of opening-up in Gannan region.

Before the meeting, Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun, on behalf of the international organisations, embassies and consulates in China attending the meeting, met with Mr. Li Kejian, Deputy Secretary of CPC Ganzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Ganzhou. After the meeting, accompanied by Mr. Xu Zhonghua, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Ganzhou Municipal Committee, and Mr. Pan Feng, Vice President of China-Europe Association for Technical and Economic Cooperation, Secretary-General Shi visited the “Ganzhou Meeting-guest Room”, a Theme Exhibition Pavilion of Ganzhou City, to gain more information about Ganzhou’s urban development, characteristic products and industrial advantages.
