ACC Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun Sent Congratulatory Message to the 2023 Silk Road Carnival and Silk Road Spring Festival Gala

On 22 January 2023, on the occasion of the Chinese Spring Festival of the Year of the Rabbit, the 2023 Silk Road Carnival and Silk Road Spring Festival Gala (hereinafter referred to as “2023 Silk Road Gala”)  produced by Shaanxi Media Convergence (SMC) premiered. H.E. Mr. Shi Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), H.E. Mrs. Khek M. Caimealy Sysoda, Ambassador of Cambodia to China, H.E. Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, Ambassador of Malaysia to China, H.E. Mrs. Khamphao Ernthavanh, Ambassador of the Lao PDR to China, H.E. Mr. Pehin Dato Rahmani, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to China, H.E. Mr. Pham Sao Mai, Ambassador of Viet Nam to China, H.E. Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot, Ambassador of Thailand to China, H. E. Mr. U Tin Maung Swe, Ambassador of Myanmar to China and Mr. Dinno Oblena, Charge d’Affaires, a. i. of the Philippine Embassy in China were invited to deliver congratulatory messages via video at the gala, extending Spring Festival greetings to Chinese people in China and across the world.

Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun said that 2023 marks the tenth anniversary of China's proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative. On this occasion, ACC will continue to play the role of a bridge as an international organization and implement the consensus of leaders of two sides, so as to make positive contribution to the building of a peaceful, safe and secure, prosperous, beautiful and amicable home together, and jointly promote the continuous development of ASEAN-China comprehensive strategic partnership.

The 2023 Silk Road Gala was guided by the Information Office of the State Council and the National Radio and Television Administration of China, and supported by ACC. The gala is broadcasted on Shaanxi media convergence’s platforms including Shaanxi Satellite TV, and other media such as People's Daily Online, Douyin, Kuaishou and Weibo. During the Spring Festival, it will also be broadcasted on TVB in Hong Kong SAR, LongTV in Malaysia, BRICS TV in Russia and other overseas media platforms. With the theme of “Great Beautiful China, Colorful Silk Road”, the gala takes the color as the link, and the spirit of the Silk Road as the main line, showing the profound history and splendid civilization of the Silk Road from the open perspectives of the East and West. It presents to audience the dream and vision of the Chinese people for cultural integration and world harmony.
