On 9 February 2023, H.E. Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), met with H.E. Mr. Hang Sandap, Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia and his delegation. Mr. Thong Rathasak, Director General of Tourism Development and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia, Mr. Sun Yi, Director of the General Affairs and Coordination Division of the ACC, Ms. Li Yaying, Deputy Director of the Education, Culture and Tourism Division of the ACC joined the meeting.
Mr. Shi Zhongjun briefed on the ACC’s work for enhancing ASEAN-China people-to-people exchanges, and emphasised that the ACC would continue to maintain close relations with Cambodian partners, and carry out more cooperation projects on promotion of tourism destination and capacity building of tourism practitioners, so as to build the Cambodia-China community of shared future, and deepening the ASEAN-China comprehensive strategic partnership.
Mr. Hang Sandap spoke highly of the sound relationship between the Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia and the ACC in recent years. He said that Cambodia stands ready to welcome the Chinese tourists in the Post-COVID era. It is hoped that the ACC would continue to provide support to and cooperate with Cambodia in strengthening tourism policy dialogue, participation in tourism expos, enhancing information sharing and training programs, so as to achieve more practical outcomes for the development of Cambodia-China friendly relations.
