From 23 to 24 February 2023, H.E. Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) exchanged views respectively with Mr. Ho Chee Hin, Chief Executive Officer of Business China, Professor Tan Eng Chye, President of the National University of Singapore, Ms. Yeung Shuk Lin, Chief Editor of Channel News Asia, and Ms. Han Yong Hong, Associate Editor of Lianhe Zaobao.
Secretary General Shi Zhongjun briefed on the basic facts of the ACC and said that ASEAN-China cooperation in the post-pandemic era enjoys vast opportunities and broad prospects. The ACC is willing to continue to play the role of an exclusive platform and bridge as inter-governmental organisation, pooling wisdom together and keeping innovating. The ACC will join hands with all walks of life in Singapore to implement the important consensus reached by leaders of ASEAN and China, and continuously promoting the further cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, education, culture, tourism, and media between the two sides.
The representatives in Singapore spoke highly of the special position and role of the ACC in promoting the exchanges and cooperation between ASEAN and China, and expressed strong wish to cooperate with the ACC in a substantive manner. They hope that the two sides would carry out more influential and deliverable projects in the fields of investment and trade promotion, small and medium-sized enterprise revitalisation, high-calibre talents training, interdisciplinary education, industry-university-research integration, media cooperation innovation, and youth exchanges relying on the advantages and resources of each side, so as to continuously enrich the ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
