On 2 March 2023, H.E. Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with H.E. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing of China to Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.
Secretary-General Shi said that, in the post-pandemic era, ASEAN Member States (AMS) including Malaysia and China share great potential of cooperation in the fields of economic cooperation, trade and people-to-people exchanges. The ACC stands ready to strengthen communication with the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia and jointly implement the consensus among the ASEAN and Chinese leaders, so as to secure a steady and long-term development of ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Ambassador Ouyang welcomed Secretary-General Shi paying his first visit to Malaysia since assumption of office and spoke highly of the ACC’s role in cultivating a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future. The Chinese Embassy is willing to render sustained support to the ACC in its endeavor of fulfilling concrete projects in such areas as economy and trade, cultural and people-to-people exchanges, making greater contributions to the well-being for the peoples of China and AMS.
