Secretary General Shi Zhongjun Meets Ambassador Huang Xilian of China to the Philippines

On 16 April 2023, H.E. Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with H.E. Ambassador Huang Xilian in Manila at the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines.

Secretary General Shi Zhongjun said that the ASEAN-China Centre, as the only intergovernmental organization established by ASEAN Member States (AMS) and China, has always been committed to implementing the important consensus among the leaders, deepening practical cooperation and enhancing friendly exchanges between both sides. The ACC stands ready to maintain communication and cooperation with the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, optimize the project planning under the new situation, enrich the content of activities and improve the quality of cooperation, so as to make joint contribution to steady progress of ASEAN-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Ambassador Huang Xilian welcomed Secretary General Shi’s visit to the Philippines. He expressed the willingness of the Embassy to identify cooperation needs on ASEAN Member States with the Philippines included and provide staunch support to the ACC's role as a linking bridge for current China-ASEAN cooperation, in its endeavor of fully implementing concrete projects in such areas as education, local governments, youth, think tanks and media. The concerted efforts by both the Embassy and the ACC will surely help garner public support for China-Philippines and China-ASEAN relations in a long run.
