ACC Co-organises 2023 ASEAN-Zhejiang Secondary Vocational Education Exchange Event

On 25 May 2023, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) co-organised “2023 ASEAN-Zhejiang Secondary Vocational Education Exchange” event. The education counselors and officials from ASEAN Member States (AMS) based in China including Thailand, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Viet Nam and Cambodia, Ms. Li Yaying, Deputy Director of the Education Culture and Tourism Division of the ACC, Mr. Zhuang Lingyun, Vice Mayor of Jinhua City, Mr. Lou Weimin, Director of the Education Bureau of Jinhua City and representatives from Zhejiang secondary vocational colleges attended the event.

AMS officials introduced the vocational education development and policies in their respective countries, expressing their willingness to further strengthen collaboration with Zhejiang vocational colleges for joint programs and personnel training. Ms. Li Yaying said that under the comprehensive strategic partnership, both ASEAN and China have brought to a new height the cooperation in trade and investment, infrastructure and other fields, where vocational education played an increasingly important role in regional development. Therefore, the exchange event was of great significance and laid a solid foundation for future vocational education exchanges and cooperation between Zhejiang and AMS. 

The representatives were also invited to visit Jinhua No. 1 Secondary Vocational School and Yiwu International Trade Market.
