On 7 June 2023, H.E. Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) paid a courtesy call on H.E. Chen Jie, Vice Minister of Education of China. Both sides exchanged views on further strengthening educational cooperation and people-to-people exchanges under ASEAN-China comprehensive strategic partnership.
SG Shi Zhongjun briefed on the role of the ACC and its flagship programs on education, and noted that the ACC looks forward to cooperating with education authorities and institutions in China to facilitate policy exchange, institutional cooperation and digital application with ASEAN Member States (AMS) in the field of education, so as to further strengthen regional talent cultivation and youth friendship.
Vice Minister Chen Jie expressed, on behalf of Minister Huai Jinpeng, greetings to SG Shi Zhongjun. He fully recognized the ACC’s work in education, and extended formal invitation to SG Shi to lead a delegation to the 2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW) to be held in Guizhou, and hoped to have more cooperation with the ACC in promoting quality China-ASEAN cooperation and digital transformation of education in the region.
