On 4 August 2023, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) organized a youth exchange in collaboration with China International Education Institute, with students from both China and ASEAN Member States (AMS) including Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, the Philippines and Viet Nam joining the event.
During the exchange, Director Hadi Tjahjono of Education, Culture and Tourism Division warmly welcomed the students and introduced to the group the operation mechanism of ACC and its role in advancing ASEAN-China pragmatic cooperation. He especially laid emphasis on the pivot role of youth on sustaining and enriching ASEAN-China relations.
During the exchange, ACC officials from relevant divisions introduced their major areas of work. Students shared their research-based suggestions on ASEAN-China ties, and cooperation in agriculture, trade and investment, science and technology, education, culture, tourism and information and media.
The event has effectively facilitated youth’s understanding of international organization such as the ACC, deepened students’ knowledge of ASEAN-China cooperation and motivated them to make proactive and innovative contribution to sustainable and fruitful ASEAN-China comprehensive strategic partnership.
