Secretary General Shi Zhongjun Attends Business and Investment Promotion Event of Bac Ninh Province of Viet Nam

On 11 September, H.E. Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the opening ceremony of the Business and Investment Promotion Event of Bac Ninh Province of Viet Nam in Beijing. The event is co-hosted by the Government of Bac Ninh Province and the Embassy of Viet Nam in China and supported by the ACC. Other guest speakers at the opening ceremony include Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh Province, Mr. Ning Thanh Cong, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Viet Nam in China, and Ms. Liu Chun, Vice President of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products. About 200 representatives from government departments, business associations and enterprises of Viet Nam and China attended the event.

Secretary General Shi noted in his remarks that in recent years, Viet Nam and China have made joint efforts to seek greater synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and “Two Corridors and One Economic Circle” plan, carried out fruitful cooperation in such areas as agriculture, production capacity, infrastructure construction and e-commerce, and bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation has always maintained a sound momentum of growth. The cooperation between the enterprises from Bac Ninh Province and China enjoy strong complementarity, broad prospects and a promising future. SG Shi hoped that the representatives of Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises could have an in-depth exchange of views to seek win-win cooperation and common development. 

Deputy Secretary Nguyen Huong Giang introduced the achievements of Bac Ninh Province’s economic development and the fruitful outcomes of the economic and trade cooperation between Bac Ninh Province and China in recent years, and encouraged more Chinese enterprises to invest in Bac Ninh Province. Minister Counsellor Ning Thanh Cong said that with the in-depth development of Viet Nam-China relations, the economic and trade cooperation between Bac Ninh Province and local Chinese provinces and cities will bring more tangible benefits to the peoples of the two sides. Vice President Liu Chun said that China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products will continue to play the role of a bridge to promote the economic and trade growth and cooperation between enterprises of local Chinese provinces and cities and Bac Ninh Province. 

During the event, The Investment Planning Department of Bac Ninh Province introduced the province’s favourable trade and investment environment and preferential investment policies. Representatives of Chinese enterprises such as Jingbei Group and Goertek shared their successful experience in investing in Bac Ninh Province.
