From 16 to 19 September 2023, the 20th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business & Investment Summit (CABIS) was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. The ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) set up a booth at the CAEXPO for the eleventh consecutive year.
During the expo, H.E. Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ACC visited the ACC booth, interacted cordially with the guests on site, and exchanged ideas with representatives from related Chinese institutions, ASEAN Member States (AMS) and the ASEAN Secretariat at their booths. Government officials and representatives of business associations and enterprises from both AMS and China visited the ACC booth for deeper understanding of the ACC functions. They had discussions with the ACC staff on future cooperation opportunities, and on how to deepen exchanges and cooperation between AMS and China in related fields. Media agencies including People’s Daily Online and China Media Group visited the ACC booth and made coverage.
Through light box photos, video show and English-Chinese bilingual material distribution, and with interpretation by on-site staff members, the ACC booth gave a comprehensive introduction on ACC’s role and functions, and a vivid demonstration of its achievements this year in promoting friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between ASEAN and China in the fields of trade, investment, education, culture, tourism and information and media.
The ACC booth has become a hot-spot in the exhibition area “City of Charm”. A large number of guests stopped at the booth for a visit, getting publicity materials and interacting with the staff. More than 3,000 enthusiastic visitors participated in the “ASEAN-China Relations” prize-winning quiz on site in a warm atmosphere.
