SG Shi Zhongjun Gives Interview to CGTN

As the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation is going to be hosted by China, H.E. Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) recently gave an exclusive interview to China Global Television Network (CGTN), elaborating on the important achievements of ASEAN-China cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and expressing expectations on cooperation potential. The interview was broadcast on CGTN’s The World Today programme and published on its website on 14 October.

SG Shi Zhongjun stressed that the connectivity cooperation between the two sides under the BRI has borne rich fruits, including Laos-China railway, Jakarta-Bandung high speed rail and Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park, bringing tangible benefits to the people on both sides. The two sides should further synergize the BRI and Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025, and foster mutually beneficial cooperation for shared goals. 

SG Shi Zhongjun noted that the ACC will remain committed as a bridge and platform for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between ASEAN and China, and will work with all parties to promote more fruitful results of BRI cooperation in ASEAN Member States.
