From 26 to 28 October 2023, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), Communication University of China (CUC), and the Publicity Department of CPC Quzhou Municipal Committee co-hosted a familiarization trip for diplomats from ASEAN Member States (AMS) Embassies in China to visit Quzhou, Zhejiang Province. As a component of 2023 Decoding Chinese Path to Modernization Workshop Series--Government Public Relations Seminar, this visit is aimed at promoting understanding of Quzhou’s experience in achieving Chinese-style modernization, enhancing mutual learning for common development.
During this visit in Quzhou, Hadi Tjahjono, head of the delegation and Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division (ECTD) of the ACC, met with Member of Standing Committee and Director Deng Wei of Publicity Department of CPC Quzhou Municipal Committee. Director Hadi Tjahjono expressed that the ACC would take the opportunities provided by 2024 ASEAN-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges to further promote people-to-people connectivity between ASEAN and China, as well as ASEAN and Quzhou.
The Delegation visited Quzhou Confucian Ancestral Temple, Confucianism Museum, Quzhou Culture and Art Center and Quzhou No.2 High School, discussing ways to promote exchanges and cooperation in culture, tourism and youth between ASEAN and China. The delegation also explored Dachen Ancient Village, Qingyang Cultural Village and Yudong Future Village to learn the new progress, experience and methods in rural governance and development in China.
Delegation members shared the view that the visit helped them better understand China's practices and experience in urban and rural governance and cultural heritage management. They are willing to further promote cooperation in various fields between ASEAN and China, especially with Quzhou of Zhejiang Province.
